The Concrete Anchor Manufacturers Association (CAMA) has added an enduring agenda item for future board meetings for the purpose of reviewing proposed interpretations of anchor criteria submitted by agencies including IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service.
The agenda item underscores the recognition of Uniform ES as a major player and provider of evaluation services, and demonstrates that CAMA recognizes the important role Uniform ES is playing in providing those services, said Uniform ES Technical Director Amir Zamanian, MSCE, P.E.
“We are committed to continuing to provide quality product evaluations as well as increasing efficiencies and promoting consistency of evaluation,” Zamanian said. “This enduring agenda item will result in a vetted understanding of the range of testing and evaluation that must be performed, allowing for a more consensus‐based interpretation of concrete and masonry anchor requirements while achieving faster overall turnaround time in the issuance of reports for post‐installed anchors.”
Because of this collaboration that includes Uniform ES and CAMA, clients will receive industry vetted criteria interpretations to help ensure quality reports, he added.
“Uniform ES supports consistent interpretations and evaluations that are industry sanctioned,” Zamanian said. “This makes us a great partner for those who care about the industry.”
CAMA, the Concrete Anchor Manufacturer’s Association, is comprised of the leading manufacturers of concrete anchoring systems and associated technical representatives. CAMA works with code organizations to develop uniform codes and standards and advance the use of anchoring systems. Primarily a technical organization, CAMA provides a forum to discuss matters of industry concern and a unified voice for the anchoring industry.
