The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is now approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). This approval authorizes IAPMO to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all of its programs that qualify under the corresponding ANSI/IACET Standards.
This authorization is the latest in a series of strategic initiatives giving IAPMO greater professional distinction and global recognition as a training provider. IAPMO was also recently named a Registered Provider for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the leading national professional membership association for licensed architects, as well as a new member of The National Association for Government Training and Development (NAGTAD), the premier resource for public sector training and development professionals in the United States.
IACET is regarded as the premier standard-setting organization for continuing education and training providers. To achieve this approval, IAPMO had to complete a comprehensive application and undergo a strict evaluation of their educational processes according to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard. In obtaining this approval, IAPMO demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standards, which are widely recognized as standards of good practice internationally.
The purposes of the IACET Authorized Provider approval process are to:
• Promote quality and consistency in continuing education and training
• Review educational processes used by organizations, not the content of activities, courses or programs
• Monitor providers against established ANSI/IACET Standards
• Recognize providers that adhere to the effective practices found in the ANSI/IACET Standards
