Irrigation Association announces new Irrigation & Lighting magazine

New quarterly publication will provide essential information to those in the landscape irrigation and lighting businesses.

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (October 7, 2021) — The Irrigation Association is excited to announce the launch of its newest publication — Irrigation & Lighting magazine. The inaugural Spring issue of Irrigation & Lighting will be published in February and will provide valuable content specific to those involved in the landscape irrigation and lighting industries.

In its five years of publishing business-to-business content for professionals in the greater green industry, the Irrigation Association discovered a niche in the marketplace for providing news and information focused on landscape irrigation and lighting contractors. Because irrigation is the IA’s core competency and lighting is a closely aligned industry in its use of low voltage wiring, the creation of this new publication was a natural evolution.

In 2022, Irrigation & Lighting will replace Irrigation & Green Industry magazine, which was focused on the broader green industry. Irrigation & Lighting will continue the best parts of Irrigation & Green Industry, including regular features about current technology and business strategies as well as our new Changing the Landscape awards. The lead editorial staff will transition to the new publication, including Editor-in-Chief Kyle Brown and Managing Editor Anne Blankenbiller. The new publication will be published quarterly, with a print circulation of more than 30,000 and a digital circulation of over 33,000.

“I look forward to launching this new magazine and using it as a conduit to provide valuable content to this tightly focused market,” says Brown. “Irrigation & Lighting gives us the opportunity to do what we do best — feature industry professionals at the top of their game and share educational tips learned on the job. Whether you’re experienced or just learning these specialties, this publication will provide useful information through expert insights and in-depth case studies.”

In addition to the quarterly printed content, digital news will be delivered to your inbox every other Tuesday and the new Irrigation & Lighting website will launch on Jan. 1, 2022.

“Having the Irrigation Association publish a magazine directed toward irrigation and lighting professionals is a perfect combination,” says Deborah Hamlin, CAE, FASAE, IA CEO. “Our original mission with publishing a landscape-related magazine was to promote the industry, educating through how-tos and case studies, providing information on new products and technologies, and engaging readers with industry partners. Through Irrigation & Lighting, we look forward to continuing this mission and driving prosperity and growth to these important sectors of the green industry.” For information about subscribing to Irrigation & Lighting, visit www.irrigationandlighting.org/subscribe.
