IAPMO R&T Now Accredited to IAS Requirements for ISO/IEC 17020

IAPMO Research and Testing (IAPMO R&T), a longtime leader in plumbing and mechanical product certification, announced today that it received accreditation as an inspection body from International Accreditation Service, Inc. (IAS) to the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 17020.

The scope of IAPMO R&T’s new accreditation includes plumbing, mechanical, and gas related products. This additional accreditation allows IAPMO R&T to perform manufacturing site inspections for regulatory entities including ICC ES. The various manufacturing procedures including raw material assessment, product production, and quality systems review are done to IAS’ protocols.

As a result of one more accreditation body scrutinizing IAPMO R&T’s advanced inspection system, IAPMO R&T’s clients can benefit from the improved service. According to Chuck Ramani, President of Evaluation Service with ICC, “We are very excited to have IAPMO R&T as a client. We have enjoyed IAPMO R&T lab as a client under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation program and we look forward to expanding this accreditation relationship in the future.

“IAS is a respected accreditation body and we’re excited to have successfully met their requirements,” said Shahin Moinian, Senior Director of IAPMO R&T. “Manufacturers seeking Evaluation Service reports can now utilize IAPMO R&T for their plant inspections.

Anish Desai, IAPMO R&T’s Quality Assurance Manager agreed, adding, “Our certification speed and unparalleled customer service make IAPMO R&T the ideal choice for manufacturers seeking this competitive edge.”
