Mokena, Ill. — ASSE International is pleased to announce that, as part of recent updates to New Hampshire Regulation Env-Dw 505, the ASSE 5110 certification is now officially approved by the state as an acceptable qualification for Backflow Prevention Device Inspectors and Testers. This important development expands the recognition of ASSE International’s certification program, aligning New Hampshire with jurisdictions across the United States that accept the ASSE 5000 Cross-Connection Control Certification Program.
For more than a century, ASSE International has been at the forefront of advancing the performance, reliability, and safety of plumbing and mechanical systems. The ASSE 5000 Cross-Connection Control Certification Program has certified more than 60,000 backflow professionals since its inception. It is the largest and most widely accepted certification program of its kind in the United States, promoting excellence in backflow prevention and ensuring the safety of public water systems.
“We are excited that New Hampshire has now officially adopted the ASSE 5110 certification as a standard for Backflow Prevention Device Inspectors and Testers,” said Scott Hamilton, senior director of Competency Development Services for ASSE International. “This step further validates the quality and expertise that ASSE-certified professionals bring to the industry and ensures that New Hampshire residents continue to benefit from safe, reliable backflow prevention systems.”
In addition to recognizing ASSE 5110 as an approved certification for professionals, the updated regulations allow the installation of backflow prevention assemblies and devices that have successfully completed ASSE International’s product listing program.
