IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service Issues ER‐0305 to No‐Burn®, Inc.

IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service (UES) is pleased to announce that Ohio‐based No‐Burn®, Inc. was granted UES Evaluation Report ER‐0305 to reference the 2012, 2009 and 2006 editions of the International Building Code® (IBC), International Residential Code® (IRC), and International Existing Building Code® (IEBC). ER‐0305 states that the No‐Burn, Inc. coatings shown in the report satisfy applicable code requirements. This allows for the specification of No‐Burn® Original, No‐Burn® Original Mih, No‐Burn® Wood Gard, No‐Burn® Wood Gard Mih, No‐Burn® Plus, No‐Burn® Plus XD, and No‐Burn® Plus Mih by architects, contractors, specifiers, and designers, and approval of installations by code officials. It also provides code officials with a concise summary of the products’ attributes and documentation of code compliance.

Products recognized with an IAPMO UES Evaluation Report have successfully undergone evaluation based on applicable requirements within the Uniform Family of Codes and the International Family of Codes, as well as codes and criteria published by other entities. UES staff thoroughly examined No‐Burn®, Inc. product information, test reports, technical data, quality assurance and quality control methods, and other factors to determine the products are code compliant.

“No‐Burn, Inc. is very pleased with Uniform ES,” said William Kish, president. “They have great people doing nothing short of fantastic work at a reasonable cost. Brian Gerber, PE, SE, their technical director, was with us every step of the way. We highly recommend them.”

The UES program is built upon IAPMO’s more than 70 years of experience in evaluating products for code compliance. Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 65, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification Systems.”

UES Director Richard Beck, PE, CBO, MCP, explains why Uniform Evaluation Reports are so valuable: “No‐Burn Inc. can now reference its ER‐0305 for their No‐Burn Plus, Plus XD, Plus Mih, Original, Original Mih, Wood Gard, and Wood Gard Mih to ensure that code officials quickly have the information required for their decision on approval. Our program also stands out because of stellar customer service and the utilization of in‐house staff along with the technical expertise of professional engineering firms, who are leaders in each area of recognition.”

UES offers a full range of recognition opportunities, including recognition for the applicable national model codes, as well as Florida, California, and various other state codes. The UES program lowers the cost and increases the value to code officials of these reports by combining all of these recognitions in one concise report prepared by an internationally recognized product certification body.
