IAPMO ‘Goes Blue’ to Celebrate World Plumbing Day 2025

The World Plumbing Council asked the plumbing industry to “Go Blue” for World Plumbing Day, and on March 11, IAPMO demonstrated that it understood the assignment!

At IAPMO’s California headquarters, employees wore blue and walked the “blue carpet,” showcasing their commitment to the industry, while the building was illuminated in blue — a striking azure beacon along the busy I-15 corridor. Meanwhile, IAPMO Oceania celebrated with a barbecue at its Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre facility, bringing together professionals from the Master Plumbers, the Mechanical Services Association of Australia, and plumbing apprentices, who all enjoyed a great meal and the chance to connect — making the celebration a truly global event.

Friends from across the plumbing industry donned blue on their social media profiles, including the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC), American Water Works Association, and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE).

World Plumbing Day even got a shout out from Ryan Seacrest on his March 11 syndicated morning radio show!

IAPMO also sponsored three plumber ambassadors through PHCP Pros to share with their Instagram audiences what it means to them that World Plumbing Day exists.

The highly visible tribute underscored plumbing’s essential role in public health, safety, and sustainability. Also highly visible: New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy officially declared March as March4Water Month and California has introduced legislation to follow suit.

March4Water unites World Plumbing Day (March 11) and World Water Day (March 22) for a month-long campaign to raise awareness about how effective plumbing codes and standards drive long-term sustainability, economic feasibility, and public health protection.

Social Media Presence

There were more than 400 posts on LinkedIn with the hashtag #WorldPlumbingDay. More than half also incorporated this year’s theme, #PlumbingIsMore.
