Shirley Dewi has been promoted to Director of IAPMO R&T’s Management System Registration Services, the quality management system certification arm of North America’s premier plumbing and mechanical product certification agency. The promotion was announced Friday by The IAPMO Group’s Chief Executive Officer GP Russ Chaney.
IAPMO R&T, through both ANAB accreditation and a partnership with Eagle Registrations Inc., provides quality management system certification to such standards as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS 9100, AS 9120, OHSAS 18001 and Safe Quality Food (SQF). Management registration standards represent the best tools and practices available to ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Certification from an independent certification body such as IAPMO R&T communicates those high standards.
Dewi took over as manager of the department in 2007 and has since expanded the scope of services to include businesses outside the plumbing and mechanical industries, adding aerospace firms, schools, government entities and oil refineries to the list of clients.
Prior to joining IAPMO R&T, Dewi worked as a quality manager in the plastic injection molding and electronics industries and served as a contract auditor for IAPMO R&T. Before that she was an operations analyst for Lockheed Martin IMS. Dewi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Cal Poly Pomona.
“Shirley has displayed great resourcefulness and initiative in growing the ISO Registration department and this promotion demonstrates the strong faith we have in her continuing that growth for years to come,” Chaney said.
