ASSE Seeks Working Group Members for Development of National Standard ASSE 1010

Mokena, Ill. — ASSE International is seeking working group members to update ASSE 1010, the standard covering performance requirements for water hammer arresters.

ASSE 1010 working group members will assist the Product Standards Committee (PSC) with the continued development of this American National Standard. The working group will operate in accordance with ASSE’s accredited procedures for standards development: IAPMO/ASSE PP-1 (Policies and Procedures for Consensus Development of American National Standards).

“ASSE 1010 addresses products that continuously help mitigate detrimental surge pressures within the water distribution system and add to system reliability and service life,” said John Higdon, IAPMO’s director of Standards Development.

The first working group meetings will be held virtually in April.

The deadline to apply is March 29. Applications can be downloaded through this LINK

Industry stakeholders — including installers, manufacturers, plumbing professionals, building owners and managers, engineers, AHJs, and the general public — are invited and encouraged to apply to participate.

Interested parties wishing to serve on ASSE working groups, please contact ASSE Standards at standards@iapmostandards.org with a completed application, as well as a copy of your résumé by the March 29 deadline, or you may contact John Higdon at (909) 218-8123 or by email at john.higdon@iapmo.orgo with any questions.
