The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), in recognition of his role in increasing IAPMO’s profile and mission among policymakers domestically and internationally, has promoted Dain Hansen to senior vice president of Government Relations, IAPMO CEO GP Russ Chaney announced.
“I have had the good fortune to work with Dain since he joined The IAPMO Group in 2010,” Chaney said. “He understands the important work that IAPMO undertakes, and his political skills and dedication to his profession is unmatched. He is one of the bright stars at our organization and I have great admiration and respect for his work ethic and his integrity. I certainly look forward to many more years of collaboration with Dain and the opportunity to watch him grow professionally in support of IAPMO’s public health commitment.”
Since joining IAPMO in 2010, Hansen has overseen the creation and development of IAPMO’s Washington, D.C., office, including the organization’s legislative and regulatory initiatives. He works with members of Congress, White House officials, key federal agencies and relevant stakeholders to ensure the organization’s interests and priorities are represented.
“I am truly grateful to the entire IAPMO organization,” Hansen said. “This position is not only professionally fulfilling, but also personally – providing the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. To have the ability to work with governments and organizations throughout the world to provide people with access to safe, reliable water and other life-saving resources is truly rewarding. I am thrilled for the recognition and look forward to continuing IAPMO’s mission in the years to come.”
Prior to joining IAPMO, Hansen worked for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, and before that he worked on Capitol Hill as a senior policy adviser. Before his work on Capitol Hill, he worked on various political campaigns. His experience and expertise have focused on energy and water policy, including federal appropriations. He graduated and holds degrees from Brigham Young University-Idaho and Ricks College, and he is also an Eagle Scout.
