The IAPMO Group has named Scott Hamilton as executive director of the ASSE International Chapter of IAPMO, LLC. Hamilton will ensure that all of the activities of ASSE International are carried out within The IAPMO Group vision, mission and philosophy.
Founded in 1906, ASSE is one of the oldest plumbing organizations in the United States. In November, its members voted in favor becoming an international chapter of IAPMO.
A 25-year veteran of the trades, Hamilton recently joined The IAPMO Group as director of Technical Development after serving the previous 14 years as president of Plumbers Union Local 75 in Milwaukee, for which he also served as training director of the Educational Fund since 2004. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, Hamilton completed the United Association’s Instructor Training program and has been teaching for 20 years, including frequently during IAPMO’s annual Education and Business conferences.
“Scott’s extensive industry experience and organizational management skills make him the ideal person to lead ASSE International on its new journey with IAPMO,” The IAPMO Group CEO GP Russ Chaney said.
Hamilton will work directly with ASSE International President Steve Silber and the Board of Directors to initiate development and implementation of long-range strategies and yearly goals, as well as overseeing the ASSE International Product Listing (SEAL) Program, ASSE International Professional Certification, ASSE International Standards Program, and ASSE International membership.
