Let’s All Get Together in Palm Springs

Greetings from the IAPMO Membership Department. It’s that time of the year when we are preparing for this year’s Education and Business Conference in Palm Springs, California. We will be gathering at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel from Sept. 14-18. My staff and I are very excited about this year’s conference because IAPMO is co-locating with not only IAPMO members but also with ASSE International and ARCSA International members.

We are offering IAPMO, ASSE and ARCSA co-located registration; you will receive everything included in the IAPMO-only registration, plus access to ARCSA educational sessions and ASSE committee meetings and networking events.

For those who have attended past conferences, this year promises to be a real treat. IAPMO works hard to offer top-notch education and training for our members, and we strive to host events in exciting and unique locations. The weather in Palm Springs this September will be absolutely perfect. For outdoor enthusiasts, the area boasts more than 100 golf courses, as well as the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which takes you to an elevation of 8,500 feet with breathtaking views. You can also enjoy hot air balloon rides, jeep tours of the desert, the Agua Caliente Casino, or the Palm Springs Air Museum if you appreciate aviation.

For those of you who are bringing a companion, there are day spas, shopping malls, and some of the best fine dining restaurants in all of California, including Mastros, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, La Spiga, and Pacifica Seafood (to name just a few).

I want to take a moment to speak to our “newer” members who have never attended our education and business conferences. This year’s conference is just more than an hour’s drive from our world headquarters in Ontario, California. If you’re unable to attend the entire conference, I would like to encourage you to take a look at our website and view our classes and training schedule. Maybe some of you can only attend for one day or one class. Because of the proximity to Southern California, it should be an easy drive for many members to come and join us, even if it’s only for a short period of time.

My staff and I are excited to greet all attendees at the registration office. We will have your registration packets ready for you. Please help us make this year’s conference our best yet. With all three organizations in attendance, it will be a busy week, with new classes being offered and new attendees that we will welcome into the IAPMO family. See you there!
