Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia — PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia has been appointed by the Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN) as the first product certification body in Indonesia for certification of SNI 9166:2023 Polyethylene Geomembranes and SNI 9167:2023 Polyethylene Geocells. This appointment is based on the decree of the head of the Indonesian National Standardization Agency No. 474/KEP/BSN/11/2023.
Geomembranes and geocells are widely used in various construction projects. For most people the terms geomembrane and geocell may sound foreign, but they are very beneficial. A geomembrane is a low permeability synthetic membrane line or barrier used to control fluid migration in a human-made project, structure or system. Geocells are used in construction to reduce erosion, stabilize soil, protect channels, and provide structural reinforcement for load support and earth retention.
Through this appointment, PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia can offer certification for SNI 9166:2023 Polyethylene Geomembranes and SNI 9167:2023 Polyethylene Geocells to help ensure the Indonesian people can obtain good quality, SNI-certified geomembranes and geocells.
“We really appreciate BSN for appointing and giving the trust to IAPMO as the certification body for SNI 9166:2023 Polyethylene Geomembranes and SNI 9167:2023 Polyethylene Geocells,” said Shirley Dewi, senior vice president of PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia. “This appointment is a commitment from us to continue to be able to provide trust and help the Indonesian people in optimizing the utilization of geomembranes and geocells.”
