IAPMO R&T Lab, a long-trusted name in independent testing, research and technical services for the plumbing and mechanical industries, has formally opened a new testing laboratory facility in Guangzhou, China, for the purpose of better serving existing and prospective clients in the Asia Pacific Region.
Situated in the heart of a modern commercial business complex within China’s third-largest city, IAPMO R&T Lab Guangzhou is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment to perform testing on everything from water closets, lavatories and bathtubs to faucets, fittings and vacuum breakers.
Now, instead of shipping their products halfway around the world (and the considerable time and expense that goes into it), Asia Pacific clients can ship them within their own hemisphere. What was once thousands of miles can now be reduced to hundreds or even dozens.
General Manager Jeff Huang has assembled a staff of engineers, lab technicians and office personnel all comprised of local residents with the highest qualifications. Huang recently relocated from The IAPMO Group world headquarters in Ontario, Calif., to run the lab in Guangzhou. He has been with IAPMO R&T Lab since 1999, distinguishing himself as manager of Testing/Asia Pacific Programs prior to his new assignment. Huang holds a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Long Beach. During his 10 years experience, he has reviewed and evaluated all kinds of plumbing products, exemplifying his knowledge of various standards, plumbing codes and regulations. Though he is a United States citizen, Huang was born in China and speaks the language fluently.
In addition to the obvious benefit of reduced shipping costs and turnaround time, Asia Pacific clients can now access comprehensive customer service in their own time zone and often in their own language.
“IAPMO R&T Lab Guangzhou is simply the latest effort by IAPMO R&T Lab to maximize our ability to serve the plumbing manufacturing industry anywhere in the world,” said Ken Wijaya, senior director of IAPMO R&T Lab. “Every effort has been made to ensure the new lab operates to the same exceptional level of service and expertise as customers have come to expect from the IAPMO R&T Lab name. We are confident our clients will recognize the same excellence in our work in Guangzhou.”
