Leave your codebooks on the shelf; the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is now offering 24/7 online access to its most current plumbing and mechanical codes through the IAPMO Web Portal.
Through this portal, plumbing and mechanical professionals can access the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, as well as several state and international custom codes using a dynamic interactive and annotatable Web platform powered by citation.
This unique means of accessing IAPMO’s codes enables the preservation of institutional knowledge and research where it matters most — within the code itself. In addition to text, annotations can include site notes, pictures or links to third-party documents and Websites.
Code enforcers, design professionals and contractors can obtain the codes, standards and regulations necessary to competently use, apply and/or enforce these codes today:
• 2009 Uniform Pluming Code (UPC) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC)
• 2006 UPC and UMC
• 2007 California Plumbing Code and California Mechanical Code
• 2008 Uniform Plumbing Code – India
• 2003 UPC and UMC (Coming soon)
• 2008 Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code and 2007 Oregon Mechanical Specialty Code (Coming soon)
“This exciting new Website expands on the groundbreaking portal launched by IAPMO last year for the California codes,” said Terry Leppellere, IAPMO director of Member Services. “All of the Uniform Codes, standards and regulations — and the most advanced Web-based tools to access them — are now only a click away.”
Using the powerful search capabilities, users can easily identify the right documents and review them immediately, enabling quicker more accurate decision-making. Search by keywords and see those keywords highlighted within each standard in which they’re included, and retain those searches for future use.
Organizations can use the portal to incorporate important company information and facilitate overall compliance throughout the organization. A forum is provided to discuss matters that affect business, allowing users to attach notes, images, tables and links to any document or paragraph within a document and then share these annotations with other individuals.
And all information is automatically updated whenever changes to any standard or regulation occur across industry categories, so users will always have the most current, pertinent information available at their fingertips.
