The City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety places in IAPMO Evaluation Service Reports the same trust it gives those produced by other third-party providers.
According to officials within the department, manufacturers may use their IAPMO ES Reports to apply for a Los Angeles Research Report at the same level of validity of other nationally recognized code agencies. The City of Los Angeles continues to enjoy a long-term trust in the product evaluation services provided by IAPMO, which has grown along with the city over the last 80-plus years. (IAPMO was founded by Los Angeles plumbing inspectors in 1926.)
