The agency that has been providing top‐notch service in the field of building product certification since 1936 is getting a new Uniform.
A Uniform Evaluation Report from IAPMO’s Uniform Evaluation Service, formerly IAPMO ES, will provide manufacturers with the only tool they need to ensure that their products are completely in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Richard Beck, director of Evaluation Services, said the name change reinforces IAPMO’s relationship with the Uniform family of codes, which includes the Uniform Plumbing Code® (UPC), Uniform Mechanical Code® (UMC), Uniform Solar Energy Code® (USEC) and the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code® (USPC).
“The Uniform Codes have established a tremendous amount of good will with jurisdictions throughout the United States for more than 80 years,” Beck said. “We are confident that our new name will make the process for manufacturers getting approvals at the local level a smoother one.”
The name may be changing, but customers will still receive the same high level of fast, flexible service for which the agency is known.
When presented with a Uniform or IAPMO evaluation report, gatekeepers in every community have complete confidence that building products meet the required standards. Day in and day out, jurisdictions across the country recognize the IAPMO marks of conformity among the most trusted marks in the industry. This includes Uniform or IAPMO evaluation reports. Uniform Evaluation Service is in compliance with Section 1703 of the International Building Code (IBC) and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under ISO/IEC Guide 65.
