Educate and Advocate: Be Part of March4Water 2025

Our water systems are stressed from challenges ranging from aging infrastructure to a changing climate. Yet too often, the public fails to recognize that the plumbing industry offers evidence-based solutions to build resilience against water stress.

These challenges persist — not from lack of will, but because so much of the work that keeps water safe and accessible is out of sight, out of mind. Addressing the technical complexities of clean drinking water and safe sanitation requires specialized expertise. Compounding this, water issues are inherently local, shaped by regional climates, infrastructure, and water quality.

March4Water, IAPMO’s month-long campaign anchored by World Plumbing Day (March 11) and World Water Day (March 22), connects policymakers and industry professionals with evidence-based solutions, such as effective plumbing codes and emerging water technologies that create safer, healthier, and more affordable communities.

Water issues are inherently local, with regional variables creating unique challenges. To help you engage stakeholders in your jurisdiction, visit uniformcodes.org/march4water for March4Water communications and advocacy tools. These include compelling case studies from Uniform Codes-adopting communities, ready-to-use social media content, and press materials that link code adoption to community resilience.

The IAPMO Government Relations team will use these resources throughout the month to support advocacy efforts at state and federal offices. Join us in amplifying our collective voice. Tag your campaign with #March4Water so we can share your efforts and make the biggest splash possible!
