Washington D.C. – The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO®) has hired Christopher Lindsay as manager, Government Relations, at the association’s Washington, D.C., offices.
A former special assistant at the White House in the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, Lindsay has recently directed a number of foundations addressing philanthropic interests, including autistic children and electrical safety. As director of programs for the Electrical Safety Foundation International (EFSI), Lindsay worked closely with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and numerous federal agencies to successfully secure grants for key industry programs.
“Christopher brings skills and experience that will perfectly complement the efforts of IAPMO Government Relations,” said Director Dain Hansen. “With his background in nonprofits, foundations and even at the White House, he will be a powerful asset to our public policy efforts.”
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Lindsay worked at the White House from 2004-2007, where he was tasked with annually reporting trends and highlighting results on more than 25,000 nonprofits that annually partner with the federal government. He further participated on working groups toward the creation of policy solutions to national security challenges and the provision of social services.
“During his time at the White House, Christopher worked closely with the Department of Health and Human Services, which will provide another great avenue to present IAPMO’s mission of health and safety before a key federal agency,” said IAPMO CEO GP Russ Chaney. “We are thrilled to add his talents and wealth of experience to our outreach in the capital.”
In addition to the White House and ESFI, Lindsay has served as director of the Charity Squared Foundation, Clear Horizons Academy, and the Operation Kids Foundation.
“IAPMO is a recognized leader on important industry and social concerns like water conservation, sanitation and the enormous energy-savings potential directly related to excess water use,” Lindsay said. “I look forward to expanding our partnerships with Congress, federal agencies and other key stakeholders in addressing these critical issues.”
