In September, we proudly concluded our annual conference for 2024, marking a significant milestone — our 30-year anniversary. As we look to the future, our focus shifted increasingly toward stormwater catchment, while we still offered valuable discussions and updates on rain-water harvesting. Members can find PDF presentations from the conference in the members section of our newly launched website. (More on that below!)
We were delighted to host a diverse group of attendees from the United States, Australia, Mexico, and Nepal. The conference sparked lively discussions about rainwater harvesting legislation in the United States, with a particular emphasis on Texas, New Mexico, and Hawaii.
Looking ahead, we are actively working on updates for the ARCSA/ASPE/ANSI standards 63 and 78, which we hope to release for public review by early spring. Once these standards are finalized, we’ll also update our training manual.

Virginia’s New Regulations on Rainwater Harvesting
In a significant development for the industry, the Virginia Department of Health has finalized new regulations on potable rainwater harvesting systems (12 VAC 5-635), effective Oct. 21. These regulations outline guidelines for the collection and reuse of rainwater, ensuring that systems operate safely and efficiently. Compliance with ASSE standards 2110, 21120, and 21130 will now be mandatory, marking a major advancement for rainwater harvesting in the state.
There’s a lot happening at ARCSA International, and we invite you to explore our new website — arcsainternational.org — to stay informed and engaged!
