ASSE 1061-2015, Performance Requirements for Push-Fit Fittings, has been revised and approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and is now available for purchase.
The 2015 revision of ASSE 1061, first published in 2006 and revised in 2011, was developed to establish minimum performance requirements for push-fit fittings – an alternative method of connecting fittings with valves and tubing on potable water distribution systems and hydronic heat systems.
“For more than nine years, ASSE 1061 has given users and code officials peace of mind that push-fit fittings meeting the requirements of this standard are high quality products,” said ASSE 1061 Working Group Chairman William Chapin. “We are very fortunate that many stakeholders have volunteered their time and efforts over the past years to continuously improve this standard.”
ASSE 1061 applies to push-fit fittings and push-fit connections that are used with PEX tubing, copper tubing, CPVC tubing and/or PE-RT tubing. The fittings covered in this standard are intended for use in hot and cold potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems in residential and commercial applications.
