Impactful Plumbing Around the World

The International Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), the public charity of IAPMO, has released its 2025 Impact Report: Impactful Plumbing Around the World, highlighting a year of measurable progress in expanding access to clean drinking water, safe sanitation, and skilled trades education. Guided by its belief that plumbing changes lives, IWSH continued advancing sustainable WASH solutions by pairing well-planned projects with skilled plumbers, quality products, and community education. In 2025, that approach delivered tangible outcomes across five countries, seven communities, and four continents, positively impacting more than 5,000 individuals.

The report documents initiatives ranging from critical plumbing upgrades in the Baca-Prewitt Chapter of the Navajo Nation to workforce development and water efficiency improvements in Walpole Island First Nation in Ontario. Globally, IWSH expanded its Plumbing Champions program through hands-on projects in Germany and Australia, supported capacity-building workshops for plumbing instructors in Zambia, and delivered Hygiene Essential Kits to vulnerable populations in Puerto Rico and Quebec City. Complementing these on-the-ground efforts, the annual IWSH Essay Competition engaged more than 550 students worldwide, encouraging the next generation to think critically about water equity and infrastructure.

Together, these projects reflect IWSH’s mission to mobilize the plumbing industry for good —advancing health, dignity, and opportunity, particularly for low-income and Indigenous communities facing the greatest barriers to WASH access. With 100% of donations directed to programs and projects, the 2025 Impact Report underscores how collaboration across industry, labor, education, and community partners delivers lasting change through demonstration projects designed for scale. As IAPMO approaches its centennial, IWSH’s work offers a clear reminder that investing in plumbing is an investment in public health, resilience, and equity worldwide.
