Construction Products Group Unites IAPMO’s Testing, Evaluation and Inspection Services

IAPMO has long been recognized as a leader in plumbing and mechanical product certification, but many in the industry may not realize the full extent of its expertise in the broader construction sector. To bring greater awareness to these capabilities, IAPMO has established Construction Products Group, a collaboration that unites three of its existing business units — Uniform Evaluation Services (UES), Quality Control Consultants (QCC), and the Institute of Building Technology (IBT) — under one easily recognizable name.

While IAPMO has been providing testing, evaluation, and inspection services for construction products for more than a decade, the creation of Construction Products Group ensures that manufacturers, engineers, and product developers understand how these services work together to simplify the path to product approval. By reinforcing IAPMO’s role in construction product compliance and innovation, this collaboration makes it easier for industry professionals to access the structured, transparent evaluation and certification process they need.

This new collaboration strengthens support for manufacturers and increases awareness of IAPMO’s construction division. It builds on the strong foundation IAPMO has developed through decades of work in plumbing certification, while shining a brighter spotlight on the comprehensive solutions it already provides for the broader built environment.

“IAPMO has been deeply involved in the construction sector for years, but not everyone realizes the full scope of our expertise beyond plumbing,” said Jerry Carrier, senior vice president of Construction Products Group.

The creation of Construction Products Group is about making it clearer that we have a dedicated team focused on testing, evaluation, and quality assurance for construction materials and systems. Our goal is to ensure that manufacturers, engineers, and regulatory professionals know they can turn to IAPMO for more than just plumbing certification.”

By integrating its construction-focused services under one banner, IAPMO is reinforcing its commitment to safety, compliance, and innovation across the built environment—not just in plumbing but in structural components, fire safety materials, mechanical systems, and more.

“IBS provided an incredible platform to reinforce our role in the construction industry,” said Adam Barefoot, UES vice president.  “At UES, we have been providing trusted evaluation reports for construction products for years, but many manufacturers are

surprised to learn that we’re part of IAPMO. This collaboration ensures our services are more visible and accessible to those who need them.”

Construction Products Group was formally introduced at this year’s International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada, one of the construction industry’s most influential trade events. IBS served as the ideal venue to unveil the collaboration to a wide audience of manufacturers, code officials, engineers, and product developers. Booth visitors had the opportunity to meet directly with experts from UES, QCC, and IBT to explore how each individual business unit group help bring new products to market while ensuring proper compliance.
