WorldSkills Kazan 2019, the world championships of vocational skills and trades, opened today with a spectacular ceremony at the Kazan Arena. More than 1,300 participants from 63 countries and regions are on hand to celebrate skills and compete to be the world’s best skilled professionals.
From Friday to Monday, participants will compete in 56 skill areas across a wide range of industries and trades from sectors including Construction and Building Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.
IAPMO is proud to support the ongoing development of WorldSkills’ Plumbing and Heating competition and is involved in several new sustainability initiatives being introduced at the event. IAPMO is also a WorldSkills Global Industry Partner, joining a group of organizations working collaboratively under the WorldSkills banner to develop the roles of industry, education, government, and policy makers in raising the profile and recognition of skilled professionals around the globe.
The goal of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 is to inspire young people all over the world to study vocational skills. The adjoining WorldSkills Conference 2019 will bring together leaders in education, government, business, and industry from around the globe to share best practices and learn about global trends and issues found in Vocational Education and Training (VET), skills provision, skills of the future, and skills excellence and development.
